As of Jul 4th, 2025, Subscript allows you to ask your customer for a new payment method for Stripe payments without having an invoice charged.
To ask for a new payment method in an existing invoice you want to have charged, refer to How to send a new payment link to an auto-charged customer instead.

You can access this feature on the specific customer page.
Go to Customers in the left sidebar > search and select the customer you want to ask for a new payment method > click the top right (…) button > Payment methods.
The flows starts in the customer page, in the top right (…) button > Payment methods.
From there, you can see all the customer’s payment methods, and can add a new one:
When you add a new payment method by clicking Add new payment method, Subscript generates a payment link (and create the customer record on Stripe, if they aren’t already linked to Stripe in Subscript).
The payment link will be shown to you as follows:
You can copy this link and send it to your customer by your preferred communication method, and they’ll be allowed to enter the new payment method, without being charged.
