When you’re starting to invoice out of Subscript, you may want to see how the invoice and the invoice email would be sent to a real customer. This article covers the options for that.

This is supported for Subscript-hosted invoices and Quickbooks. Xero doesn’t support test sending (learn more).

There are two ways we can test sending invoices:

  1. If you want a preview of the PDF (how it would look like), you can create a test invoice and just see the PDF. This will work for Subscript-hosted invoices. If you want to have a peek at the Quickbooks invoice PDF, you’d need to save it to there and delete afterwards.
  2. Or, if you want to actually see the email the customer would receive with the PDF attachment, you can also test send an invoice to yourself. This option will also save the invoice to your GL, if you’re using one.

The video tutorial below covers both options.
