You can create or update customers in batch in Subscript under Customers > Upload CSV:

In this page, you can download the suggested template, but can also use your own file (eg., exported from another system or spreadsheet).

After filling the comma-separated value (CSV) file with your customers, one per line, using Excel, Google sheets or a text editor, you’re ready to upload!

Follow the steps below to upload your file:

  1. Click Please upload file with customers in the blue box in middle of the screen > select your file, or drag and drop it directly
  2. Click Check Customers — this will show your customer list from the CSV file
  3. Select the columns, matching the origin column in your file to the destination field in Subscript
    1. If the suggested template was used, you’ll see the table prefilled already!

  1. By default, Subscript will create new customers; if you want to update existing ones, select a matching field in the ID column: it can be an external ID that is in your file and in Subscript (Hubspot customer ID, for instance), Subscript internal customer ID or even the customer name

    1. Click (+) under the Metadata column and choose your field name, or create a new one (+ Create New Metadata)
    2. Select the origin metadata columns in your CSV to the destination metadata fields in Subscript
